PEER SUPPORT
In mental health, everyone matters. It doesn’t much matter why you’re here, mental health challenge, situation got you down, diagnosis… everyone is welcome here.
Stigma continues to be the number one barrier between someone experiencing a mental health situation and getting the help they need. Help comes in many forms, conversations with friends, changing your environment, therapy, medications, and on and on. One of the most effective treatment options is finding a group of peers to support you along your path. Hearing stories from others that have been THROUGH IT, found hope, and kept going can help keep you going. Groups like Alcoholics Anonymous work for a reason and Mental Health is not lacking in groups.
Try one, you might like it. Doing something different, even if it doesn’t work out the first time, can lead you to new friends, mentors, and more. Want to share a story of how peer support has been a part of your journey? Email us.
